TALES OF INCREDIBLE CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL EXCHANGE IN INDONESIA FROM A FILIPINA LOUISIAN'S PERSPECTIVE

Time Management
During my final teaching demonstration, managing my time effectively was indeed crucial to ensuring that each part of my lesson was delivered comprehensively. I adhered to a well-structured schedule, which I constructed beforehand.
To optimize my time, I set clear learning objectives for the class and communicated them at the beginning. This gave students a roadmap for our lesson and fostered a sense of direction not only to them but most especially to me. I allocated specific time slots for each section of the lesson plan, allowing room for flexibility if discussions extended beyond the anticipated time. While flashing my PowerPoint presentation, I actually had a running timer onscreen which was a huge help in monitoring the time that I had spent for each part of my teaching and helped me maintain the flow and ensure that all objectives were met.

Pre-Teaching
This was the introductory or opening part of my teaching demonstration. I made sure to observe a maximum of 15 minutes for this phase. In the span of 15 minutes, I was able to facilitate the a) opening greeting, b) opening prayer, c) checking of attendance, d) brief management of the cleanliness and orderliness of the classroom, e) apperception, and f) explanation of the objectives for the day's lesson.

Whilst-Teaching
This took up the bulk of my demonstration as it contained the core delivery of the lessons and the conducting of the assessments. I allotted a total of 60 minutes for this phase. In order for me to strictly meet this hourlong time allotment, I divided into specific steps the learning sequence that the students were able to follow through. The learning sequence was composed of a) stimulation, b) problem statement, c) data collection, d) data processing, e) verification, and f) generalization. Throughout this learning sequence, the students were able to successfully hone their cognitive, affective, and psychomotor skills by accomplishing the various assessments on listening and descriptive text that I gave them.

Post-Teaching
This was the ending part of my final demonstration. I was able to draw the lesson to a neat finish in a span of less than 15 minutes. During this point, I enjoined the students to conclude the lesson for the day. Several of them voluntarily and enthusiastically gave a generalization for our lesson. After that, I provided quick feedback on their performance on the just concluded assessments. To really ensure that the students understood the lesson, I allowed them to raise their queries or clarifications if they had any. After answering the students' questions, I informed them about the teaching material topic to be discussed at the next meeting. When everything was clear and settled down, I finally brought the class to a close with a closing greeting and closing prayer..
